    • Prayer for the Bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester

Loving Father, we thank you for our past shepherds and the blessings they have been for the people of our diocese. Bless Bishop Quinn now in a particular way as he completes his service to the Diocese of Winona-Rochester as our bishop. Watch over him, guide him and direct his missiion t sanctify, teach and govern the people you entrust to his care.

Lord, send your Holy Spirit to anoint our next bishop that he may continue the work of Christ in the Church. Give him a true shepherd's heart like that of Jesus, that he may give strength to the weak, heal the brokenhearted, console the lonely, bring back the wandering and be a power against the evil of our day. May he be a beloved son who has given himself totally to you, a spiritual father who will love his priests and a good shepherd who will tend all those entrusted to his care.

May this chosen man be a person of deep and true prayer, firm resolve, and a Shepherd of joy and peace who will spread the Good News throughout his life in service to our Diocese. May he help to form us all into missionary disciples by loving and serving You on our journey to heaven.

We fervently ask all of this through Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever. Amen.
